Feel the schwarz, with this traditional dark German lager. With a malt-forward nose, just a hint of roastiness and a dark colour, this style can be deceptive; most of its bitterness comes not from dark grains but from the hops (Hallertauer in this case). Light in body, zingy and moreish, with plenty of fizz, it’s surprisingly refreshing, and refreshingly surprising.

Near black pour with nice sized beige head, nice lacing. Roast, grass and light caramel aroma, quite inviting. Very balanced taste with a slick body and a zingy fine carbonation. Very sessionable.

33cl can via Beer52: BB 30th September 2024. Drank at home on 8th November 2023. Ruby hue to the dark brown body, tanned head. Malty nose and initial taste, hops kick in mid-sip. It's a decent Dark Lager even if it's really brewed in Cornwall.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A dark cola brown pour with a billowing beige head; toasted malt aroma; less watery than expected with a bitter grainy taste; and a fresh finish. Better than many other Schwarzbiers I’ve tried.

light smooth coffee, I'm not a lager drinker but this is ok. All lagers should be made this way
