Cheers to 10 years! This anniversary beer is the stout of all stouts—with lessons learned from last decade of brewing. Made with 100 gallons of the finest Wisconsin maple syrup, four types of choice vanilla beans, and more boiling time than a month’s worth of IPAs, this imperial stout is the perfect beverage to raise in celebration of the next decade of Fair State.

7.5 oz. can, pours black with a medium tan head. Nose has plenty of vanilla beans, a touch of maple syrup, and a touch of dark sugars. Flavour is bold and a bit lacking cohesion, with plenty of vanilla beans upfront, followed by molasses, somewhat fermented out maple syrup, and some sticky dark sugars. Not sure if it’s the base beer that needs work, or whether it’s the adjuncts that muddle this up a bit. It’s solid, but could use some refinement.

Aromas are dark malt with a little roast, cocoa and molasses. Flavors are similar to nose with very soft carbonation. Almost flat. A bit of fruit - bittersweet. I have no idea why this is supposed to be a special beer.

Can. A- Roasty, cocoa. A- Black color, black liquid, minimal head. T- Bitter, cocoa, burnt sugar, vanilla. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, burnt finish. O- I have a love hate with these 7 oz cans. This was a pretty big letdown. Lots of burnt sugars and bitterness. Not any maple that I can really tell. A bit of peppery bite and some vanilla. Not all that sweet either. Just meh.
