Named after the poisonous nut and midwestern chocolate peanut butter treat, this stout is brewed with peanut butter powder, conditioned on a huge dosing of raw cacao nibs, vanilla and is rounded out with a touch of Himalayan sea salt. Buckeye is oozing with notes of salted pretzel and creamy chocolate peanut butter cup flavors, especially as you let it warm in your glass. It’s not meant to be pastry, it’s drinkable in body, not overly sweet, but full of flavor!

16 oz can. Thanks tfontana for the share. Aroma shows caramel, peanuts, and chocolate. Flavor is decent. Mild peanut, chocolate, and light caramel. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. Good.

Can, undated, thanks to tfontana. Drunk 11/11/23. Clear dark. Small, grey head to head immediately. Smells pretty peanut-forward. Nutty, rich, not oily. Light vanilla and low malt character. Soft, dry, thinner than it should be but with delightful peanut and chocolate notes. Just wish we had a good deal more maltiness here.

Can pour from the brewery. An opaque dark brown with thin cap of head quickly fading to a beige ring. Aroma is strong peanut butter, salty pretzel. Taste is strong peanut butter--a bit on the burnt, earthy bitter side--cacao nibs, vanilla. Smooth, thick, soft carbonation. Aroma bests taste, which has a bit of an undesirable characteristic. Good but not phenomenal.
