Foster Hill (1904 - 1919) was Edward's brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In its previous incarnation, we had honored him in a different manner, one that was limited by its infrequency; we hope to reinvigorate his memory by adapting his namesake beer to an American IPA—brewed with Citra® and Simcoe® hops.

Pours hazy mango into a tulip. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes to coat surface. Mango, melon and lychee aromas. Soft with tart tangerine pith, overripe melon rind and bitter apple front to back. Lasting bitter crushed pith finish.

Can (3/5/24) pour from trade with AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! Cloudy dark yellow with tons of sparkle, a few dark floaties, good-sized head with fair retention and nice lacing. Aroma is strong lemon citrus, grapefruit and background fruit salad. Taste is citrus and grape with grainy malt background, light pine. Frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste with mild bitterness. Solid but doesn't blow me away.

Can direct from the brewery. It pours cloudy golden - yellow with a medium, fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh, bright, zingy, zesty, juicy, grapefruit, orange squash, stone fruits, apricot, persimmon, mango salsa and some white farmhouse bread loaf. The taste is crisp, firmly dry, pleasing bitterness which builds and lingers, pithy, zesty, juicy, grapefruit, tangerine, kumquat, orange squash, floral, orange blossom, persimmon, touch of peppery spice, floury bread, green and weedy accents with a drying, bitter linger. Medium body, moderate carbonation and fluffy mouth feel. Really like the bitter kick to it. Flavourful and quaffable.

16 oz can from the brewery. Thank you Clark. Aroma is orange, mango, and perhaps tangelo. Nice expression of both hops. The Simcoe only gives a very mild pine or herb in the finish. Softer bitterness with a nice dry texture. Bold flavor for under 6.1%.

Pours a hazy yellow colour and a frothy white head with little retention. Aroma's: piney, resin, citrus. Retronasal it's citrus juicy, a bit dank, resinous bitter. Flavour is moderate bitter with a hint of malty sweetness. Medium bodied. Long bitter finish. Old school and very nice.
