Brewery draught, 8/19/23. Dark. Beige head quick to ring. Big bourbon notes showing coconut, spice, root beer, vanilla and yet no booze. Chocolatey malts in the background seem supportive, I suppose, though quite light, especially initially. Chewy bourbon and light fudge with some vanilla and almost a Tootsie roll flavor. The lager yeast does indeed provide a less full bodied experience overall, though the beer is far from thin. That said, a bit more depth would be great here, even if that's a bit of a contemporary complaint. It's perfectly flavorful, attenuated and balanced, and more traditional, with excellent, luxurious bourbon character.
