We’re pleased to introduce to you our newest smoked bock—Beast of the Peak! Utilizing maple smoked malt from our good friends at Maine-based Blue Ox Malthouse, Beast of the Peak is brewed with a complex mash schedule and lagered for six weeks. Medium bodied and highly drinkable, Beast of the Peak offers notes of doughy bread, caramel, and campfire smoke on the aroma. It additionally showcases the exceptional flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, maple syrup, and raisins.

Charlton draught, 6/6/24. Clear, dark auburn. Well-retained, almost creamy, dark beige head. Wow that is Schlenkerla-level. Peat, iodine, wood, old campfire. All the usual suspects. The maple comes through lightly, with caramel, honey and light pepper on the finish. In the mouth it's very malty with a bready, crusty, smokey, peppery malt. Rich and soft with good depth and attenuation. Honestly, far less smokey in flavor. If you think this is a lot, you may not want to drink Schlennies. Lovely stuff.

Pours a dark, reddish-brown, with big, tan head. Aroma is smoke, some malt. Flavor is smoke and more smoke, some roasted grain, malt. Smooth mouthfeel. But so much smoke--I think they might have overdone that part...
