In the years leading up to Prohibition, there was an explosion of breweries built by German immigrants brewing beers that took the best of the homeland and mixed it with the best of their new country, much like our brewery today. Celebrate our country and it’s orgins with this Pre-Prohibition Pilsner brewed with corn and old school American hops to create a classic American combo.

Brewery draught, 6/4/24. Clear, maize-golden. White head quickly to cover. Not much hop, but a bit of corn and biscuit. Corn is delightful and the hops are fruity with very low bitterness. Barley adds satisfyingly chewy biscuit and sweetness. I like that it's not just hopped to all hell. And I really like the corn addition...clean and flavorful.

Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5

Pours slightly hazed gold into a willi. White head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Corn, biscuit and hay aromas. Crisp with sweet caramel, hay and biscuit front to back. Medium length corn finish. Definitely old school - but in a good way.
