Burled Bark is a Helles Lager that pours a brilliant pale gold color with aromas of freshly milled pale malt, lightly toasted bread, cedar, and subtle floral hops. The classic combo of German Pilsner and Munich malts lend a rich, complex flavor that, along with restrained bitterness, lets the malt shine from start to finish. Combined with a clean German lager yeast and extended cold conditioning, Burled Bark packs a breadth of flavor in a crisp, sessionable package.

Happy Thanksgiving. This is quite delicious. Smooth, lots of flavor, malt, toast, bread, caramel.

Can pour from Rapids Liquors, Stoneham. Clear gold with tons of sparkle, good-sized head with excellent retention and nice lacing. Aroma is toasted malt, dry corn husk (good call, AFH!). Taste is strong European malts, straw. Smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Good strength, well made, but Helles not a compelling style.

16 oz. can in a trade with tfontana. Flavor is mild cracker, straw, soft herb. Maybe a note of dry corn husk. Nicely dry texture. Clean finish. Good for the style.

Undated can drunk 6/3/24. Bright, copper-tinged bronze. Medium-sized, white head, modest retention. Bit of woody and spicy hop with strong biscuit and a bit of sourdough. Not getting a ton of yeast/mineral. But it's clean. Lighter-bodied though not thin. Baguette, lightly toasted, with a bit of honey and gentle hops on the end. Only lightly bitter. Carbonation is strong, fizzy, a bit annoying. It's clean, though. Maybe a hint of powdered sugar on the end.
