Our take on a classic recipe, Maynard’s Extra Special Bitter is a British-style pub ale made with Northeast grown and English barley varieties. Offering a bright yet toasty malt profile with hints of toffee supported by earthy black tea and marmalade biscuits.

Canned January 2024, drunk 6/2/24. Clear, bright auburn-amber. Large, moderately-well-retained, light beige head. Beautifully aromatic nose full of fruity yeast and light specialty malts. Gentle, but generous spiciness from the hops and light biscuit and cracker from the base malt. Very clean. In the mouth it's moderately malty, spicily-hopped and very fruity. Nicely to-style, with no real Americanization. The only thing missing here is just a touch more oomph from the base malt to give it a bit more depth and roundness.

Can from Crafted. Pretty amber pour very large foamy head. Nose is malt, tea, fruity. Tastes of earl grey, cherry, malt, earth, dandelion greens. Round palate. Reminds of British pub for sure transporting myself back in my mind.
