Citrus IPA

Bright and tropical, this India Pale Ale brilliantly layers a citrusy blend of orange and tangerine with a robust hop profile. Crafted with real citrus and packed with as much flavor as a hop cooler, you won’t be able to stop at just one sip of this fresh and fruity beer.

On tap. Pours a deep copper color with moderate head. Aromas of fruit gummies, pine and toffee. Flavors of pine, bitter tropical fruit, resin and toasted malts. Long bitter finish though still with a bit of fruity sweetness. Nice.

22 oz bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Mostly clear golden orange with two fingers of off-white head. Super tiny bits of sediment throughout. Aromas of tropical and stone fruit, malt, citrus, light pine and floral notes. Tastes of orange and grapefruit citrus, tropical fruit, floral notes, hop oils. Medium body with a dry finish. Good citrusy tropical IPA.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is citrus - sort of tangerine zest with maybe a pineapple touch. Very fresh citrus - but not the common 3. Med ++ body. Flavor is rather tangerine zest with a strong malt backbone - but there’s too much hop for this to seem dry. Pretty strong flavors. Good stuff.

$6.79 bomber from Wine Warehouse. Pours a medium golden with a large, soft, frothy, long-lasting head. Aromas of heavy citrus and pine, perhaps a hint of pot. Lovely smooth flavor of orange peel, orange pulp, light green leaves, light roasted malts in the back end. Tasty! Another yummy release from what’s turning out to be one of the breweries I’m seeking out.

Keg at Beer Run. Clear golden amber, large creamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of citrus, clay, earth, leafy and herbal hops. The taste is pithy dry citrus, pale malt. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness.

Great citrus and light pine in this. Well balanced and easy to drink - even my dad liked this and he hates IPAs. Pours orange with good head and lacing. Light bitter finish. Tap at Drake Eatery.
