We have an affinity for trees here at Tree House, and this beer pays homage to one of the most mighty of them all. God of the Forest is the colloquial name for mighty Tāne Mahuta, the largest living Kauri tree known to be standing today. Kauri trees are a type of large, ancient coniferous tree native to New Zealand. Tāne Mahuta is not only an iconic natural landmark but also a symbol of New Zealand's commitment to conserving its natural heritage. To honor the might of this legendary tree, we have crafted a beer with all New Zealand hops highlighting Riwaka and Motueka! Cut from the same cloth as Silver Fern, it oozes with overripe tropical fruit character with punchy citrus throughout.

Draft pour at Tewksbury. Opaque bright yellow, nice head with good retention, tons of soapy lacing. Aroma is is strong citrus, tangerine, hint of herb. Taste is strong candied citrus, stone fruit, late biscuit. Smooth, frothy texture, medium bodied, soft carbonation, mild alcohol warmth, finish as taste. Nice and juicy.

Charlton draught, 11/26/24. Heavily hazy, milky-bronze-maize. Small, white head. Super fruity, juicy, spicy, match stick and tropical fruit salad as both Riwaka and morueka share space in the bright, aromatic, clean nose. Rich honey-like malts balance gently. No resin, booze, twang. Very spicy with some drying chalk and pine. Lower match stick, though still plentiful white grape and mineral. Rich, soft, supple texture with moderate attenuation. Touch of punchy pine and high acid from the motueka (I assume), but otherwise a delight.

Pours a hazy, golden orange-pineapple, with mid-size head. Aroma is dank and pungent, with a note of gasoline, along with the citrus and tropical fruits. Flavor follows, with more than a little hop bitterness at the finish. Soft mouthfeel.
