As reliable as the changing of the season itself, Deciduous, our annual fall release, has emerged from its slumber. For 2024, we've returned to Bavaria for inspiration and crafted a perfectly balanced Dunkelweizen, utilizing a classic German yeast strain from the heralded Andechs Monastery Brewery in Herrshing. The remainder of the recipe follows in traditional suit with a grist predominantly of raw and malted wheat, with percentages of Pilsner and Munich malts, and hopped with Magnum and Spalter Select.
The result is fall perfection in a glass. We're relishing the notes of fresh baked banana bread, toffee and spice that will pair exceptionally well with fall fare.

Milk n Hops a few days before Halloween while in town for work. Labeled "Belgian" on the chalkboard.
Extra frothy, medium hazy amber.
Bittersweet nose of strong banana with a more level-headed clove punch. Background itchy nose wheat
Yeasty, moderately phenolic, significant spice, cherry wood, bubblegum, lingering estery finish.
Higher acid than I wanted, lingering froth, evaporates off the tongue.

Brewer's Table draught, 11/16/24. Mildly cloudy, rusty bronze with a small, off-white head. Good malt and nutty wheat without any massive clove/banana. Hints of vanilla-like character with soft caramel and plentiful fruit on the end. Soft with a hint of crust but mostly soft, maybe too soft. Need a bit more crust or bread or something to differentiate this from a pale weizen. Otherwise, it's malty and balanced, clean and without any crude ester/phenol.

Pours slightly hazed copper orange into a weizen. Tan, foamy pancake head craters and recedes leaving soapy lacing. Banana and bubblegum aromas. Medium bodied with sweet bananas flambe and fall spices upfront turning to dried banana chips and clove in the dry, medium length finish.
