In the hiking world, a cairn is often a trail marker along the path, or an indicator of a summit; they guide trampers on the trails to the top of a mountain. Here at Tree House Brewing Company we believe it is not always about the destination, but journey itself. This series showcases localized malts throughout the Northeast, and each iteration is single hopped with a different American hop.
Cairn Series—Mount Washington utilizes barley sourced from Morrill Farm in Penacook, NH, which was kilned into a beautiful pilsner malt by our friends at Valley Malt. Mount Washington is hopped with Citra from the Pacific Northwest. Pouring a pale straw yellow color, it exhibits notes of light doughy malt, biscuit, honeydew melon, mango, and passionfruit. It is lightly bodied, smooth, and crisp with a firm bitterness. This beer is very delicate and highly drinkable.
A perfect beer for you to savor atop Mount Washington's 6,288 ft White Mountain summit, enjoy your time wandering all the trails that lie ahead.

Can (Autumn 2024) shared by ClarkVV--thanks, Clark! Lightly hazy pale yellow, nice sparkle, ring of head, no lacing. Aroma is strong pilsner-ish malt, moderate citrus. Taste follows aroma. Fairly thin texture. Malt is not fully Pilsner, so more enjoyable for me.

Can. Thank you TJ. Aroma shows cracker malt with soft honey malt. Taste is honey, pils malt, moving to smooth grassy hops. Finish is light grass or Noble hop. Pretty balanced. Crisp texture. Well crafted.

Charlton draught, 11/11/24. Clear brass-golden. Small, white head, steadily to ring. Apple, white grape and a bit of yeast with grainy biscuit. Clean. Yeasty and herbal with a good mix of grainy and softer, honey-like malt textures. Excellent depth, even running lightly sweet. Lower bitterness but still manages excellent hop and yeast flavor on the finish.

Pours a lightly hazy, pale copper-gold, with mid-sized head. Aroma is cereal, grass, hops. Flavors follow. Clean, crisp mouthfeel.
