These light bodied brews were originally made for fieldhands who spent all day harvesting crops, so they needed a seriously crisp and crushable brew when they came in for the day. And Anchorage’s False Promise continues that tradition.

Tasting Notes
It’s light and a little tangy, with rustic hints of turned earth and cut grass from brettanomyces yeast. And at 3.5% ABV, you can drink two or three of them at lunch and go right back to doing yard work, just like an early 1800s Belgian farmworker.

Bottle from Tavour. Pours translucent gold with a huge white head that turned foamy. Aroma of barnyard/funk - a touch of pedio, but I think mostly Brett. Med body. Dry and funky. Excellent.

Thanks ClarkVV on the 375 ml bottle share share! Aroma is cobwebs, Brettanomyces, mineral water. Flavor follows. Brett runs thick and deep. It is tart and funky.

375 mL bottle drunk 10/19/24. Clear blonde-brass. Smattering of white, rocky head. Pure, pure Brett. Juicy, mildly tart, lots of mineral. Tart, gigantic Brett notes, soft wood, moderate bitterness. Good dryness. Maybe a bit too bitter but excellent body and flavor for its size. Good Sacch character, as well, giving a hoppy Blaugies-like impression.

Like a table version of anchorages usual Brett Saison except not lacking in flavor at all, pretty nice! Brett finish still there with crispness throughout.
