Riot Grrrl Amber Ale by Foam’s Valkyries Brewing Club.

This beer fuses together a slightly reimagined recipe of the club’s first offering, Intuition Amber Ale, with the name of their second release, Riot Grrrl Pils. This Amber Ale was brewed with Cascade and Columbus, and dry hopped with Simcoe. On the nose, we find notes of toffee followed by dried apricot and brown bread on the palate, Bosc pear on the finish.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: dark amber in color with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: toasted grains, clean caramel/toffee malts, light earthy to floral hops
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to bitter sort of quality; finishes somewhat caramel to toasted grainy-like
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; some smoothness but also some dry notes on the tongue
Overall: I like this amber ale, it works and I would have it again.

16 oz can. Amber color, brown hues. Aroma is toasted grain, soft caramel. Shows a light pine hop. Flavor is mostly the same with the hops showing herbal hints with a very light bitterness. Good amount of lingering toasted grains. Respectable for the style.

Canned 2/28/24, drunk 9/30/24. Clear, lighter amber-copper. Large, light beige head, moderately-strong retention. Fruity hops and yeast with a bit of round citrus, some iced tea and toast from the crystal malt and a hint of pepper on the finish. Fairly aromatic, quite clean. Maltier than expected, with a soft, strawberry-peach-apple fruitiness from the yeast and pretty good base malt character adding honey and white bread. Not too much toastiness, thankfully. Hops are faded by this point, but still exhibit a touch of wood and orange. Hint of pepper, pine, marmalade mixing with white bread and hints of caramel. Clean, fruity, mellow, quite drinkable.
