Bottle (10/29/20) pour shared by ClarkVV and AirForceHops--thanks, guys! Opaque black with thin head, nice lacing. Aroma is strong dark roasted malts, toffee, pine. Taste is strong dark roasted malts, pine, toffee. Smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Not a barley wine--misnomer?--this is a good black IPA!

Bottle from Bar Antidote. Big thanks to the owner for selling us this. The flavor is of a black IPA. Flavor is chocolate, mild chocolate, and herbal hops. I don’t get any barrel characteristics and this has fresh hops. So if I rate as a black IPA, it is good! Personal note: the is my 1000th Vermont beer! Very fun story.

Bottled 10/29/2020, drunk 8/31/24. Dark maple-char. Still a small, beige head. Clear. Does smell like a dark IPA. Heavily fruity yeast, hints of smoke and caramel with a touch of licorice and toast. Fruity. Zero barrel. Clean, no booze. Chocolatey, malty, black IPA. Fresh PNW hops, lightly bitter. Looking for the bourbon, but there's none. This is fresh and young. Obviously this is not a 2020 bourbon BA Barleywine, but whatever, it's still well-made.
