We are proud to present Woodstock’s own spelt lager, a rustic take on a traditional lager with an elegant taste of place. It is crafted with a base malt called Isaria, the oldest German malting barley variety. Originally approved in 1924, it has historically been used for unfiltered, flavorful traditional German Lagers. For further complexity, spelt grown right here in Connecticut rounds out the malt bill.
Hand-selected Mandarina Bavaria adds a fruity noble hop texture to this malty and crisp delight. Rustic aromas of bready malt, honeyed sweetness, and straw set the stage for a refined and delicate finish.
Simple, yet brilliantly executed, Woodstock Spelt Lager is the perfect beer to usher in warmer weather—Enjoy!

Undated can from the brewery, drunk 8/20/24. Clear, lighter amber. Big, off-white head showing strong retention. Rustic grain, spelt you might say, with a hint of bread crust and light toast. Some light fruitiness and gentle, earthy and herbal hops augment things. Clean, lighter in general. Rustic, bready, fruity, peppery. Really interesting and beautiful. A mix of caramel and honey-like sweetness up front that dries out with a good grain and light toast to it. This is so interesting and well-done and unique.
