500mL bottled 02/02/21, thanks to Willrunforbeer on the share. Clear burgundy. Small, tan head, spotty. Bright, acidic apple brandy. Darker malts with a big roasty edge. Some alcohol still. Juicy apple, nutty rye, still a medium body though this was clearly never a monster, cakey stout. Prune, cigar, ash, light oak. Outdated style (thinner, drier, lighter), but the flavors are fantastic, if maybe a touch toastier than I'd prefer. No alcohol in the mouth.

Pours mahogany tinged black into a tulip. Mocha head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Hot pumpernickel, apple crumble and pit fruit aromas. Slick with sweet ice cider, hot molasses, pumpernickel, raspberry muffin front to back.
Aroma is roasted malt, brown sugar, light apple notes. Taste is nice and develops as it warms. Very easy to sip.

Bottle pour in share with AirForceHops in honor of my RateBeer 6th-year anniversary--thanks, Chris! It's an opaque black with thin ring of beige head, nice viscosity and no lacing. Aroma is strong apple, toasted wood, subtler base malt. Taste is mix of wood barrel, roasted rye, late apple, roasted earthy malt/dried leaves, hint of vanilla. Mouthfeel is light bodied with smooth, thin, velvety texture, soft carbonation, nice mild alcohol warmth and finish as taste. Overall, a lot of nuance to the flavor, especially as it warms. Nice.

500 ml bottle. $15.00 per bottle. Brewery only. Aroma is roasted malt, burnt sugar and soft whispers of apple. In the flavor the rye barrel seems to dominate with notes of molasses and roast. Apple Brandy is very tame. Body is a tad lean. Alcohol is hidden. The great thing here is it shows layers of flavor.
