375mL bottle drunk 7/14/24. Hint of chill haze. Deep bronze-peach. Little/no head. As is usually the case with their beers, the adjuncts and barrel are both pronounced and yet moderately-well homogenized. Nothing aggressive or dominant here, with a lovely fruit character and subtle, peppery smoke. Red wine gently adds depth and strength in the background. Juicy peach and peppery-iodine-like smokiness, very dry and woody on the finish. Some tart Brett is well-received and a bit of malo-lactic character joins the finish. I like the smoke but it's rather heavy and the charred wood character is a bit at odds with the lighter fruit character of the other aspects of the beer. Does keep it very dry, though. There's excellent malt and wine/barrel tannin. With breathing and warming it does become more balanced. Very unique and creative beer.
