Bottle pour shared by CLW--thanks, Chris! Dark brown with thin ring of head, light viscosity, no lacing. Aroma is caramel, bourbon. Taste is caramel and bourbon. Frothy texture, avg carbonation, soft carb and finish as taste. Neither base beer nor barrel treatment is particularly strong. It's OK as a beer. Versus expectations? A disappointment.

500 ml bottle. Pours reddish amber color.. Nose / flavor of oak, pear, toffee and dark fruit. Hints of apple. Dates, and some mineral character. A little thin in the body. The booze is nearly hidden. Overall, I like it. A touch lean in the body. But flavor is nice.

500mL bottle drunk 6/18/24. Clear, dark. Dark beige/light tan head quickly to edges. Little bit of smokey character. Little bit of rye and light chocolate malt. Not boozey, though maybe a touch of alcohol yet. Very peppery. Rich malt but a bit of a dearth of body. It's not thin and I think moreso it's just very attenuated. But the light chewiness quickly runs it's course and leaves lots of light whiskey, chocolate and too light a finish. Surprisingly low booze. I mean, for a 9% scotch ale, it's lovely. For a contemporary BA dark beer, it's too light. Depends what you're looking for here.
