Can from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, espresso, some liquorice, ash, light fruity tones. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a bitter finish. Body is only a little above medium. Nice Stout, as an Imperial it leaves something to be desired. Nicely roasty with coffee and dark chocolate, bitterness is a bit harsh and unbalanced.

Can 0,33ltr: Opaque black colored brew with an smooth dry bitter taste with hints of roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Also the alcohol is somehow entangled with salty liquorice entangles.

In principe zou dit een goeie imperial stout kunnen zijn. Alle smaken die je wil proeven zijn aanwezig. Helaas zit er een laagje ijzer- en roestsmaak bij, wat ik altijd een afknapper vind.

Can. Black pour. Aroma of chocolate, licorice, roasted malt, burned caramel, coffee and soft smoke. Taste has bitter roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice, burned caramel, soft smoke, roasted coffee and a malty finish with a little booze. Nice classic bitter and roasted ris.

Pours black, small tanned head. Smell is full, milder umami, roasty, bit liquorice. Taste is sharp, tad boozy, umami, liquorice, roasty. Medium to medium full bodied. medium low carbo. Bit boozy in the finish. OK

Fairly tasty RIS. Quite thin, plenty of toast, some sweetness and a bit of coffee. This is one of those things that shows that a mediocre beer of a tasty style can still pull it off. Needs more body.

Black colour, tall frothy tan head, good retention, heavy lacing. Aroma roasted malt, coffee, cocoa, dried dark fruit, liquorice, vegetal notes. Medium body, oily texture, smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation, malty sweetbitter finish, alcohol, spicy notes, some ash. Overall a satisfying though kind of light-weight RIS, tasty and easy to drink, good effort.

Can, almost black. Soft roast and soap in the aroma. Malty sweet, floral, soapy roasty flavor. Hint of licorice. Supersmooth, but no real character.
