Pitch black beer, off-white head. The smell of rich, dry coffee is evident the moment you pop the can. Tastes of dry, earthy malt, coffee, a hint of chocolate and then it finishes off with some airy, bitter hop. A nice blend and a very nice beer.

Can sample at the "Farewell to Vova Shack" tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks Max. Black with a huge beige head. Aroma of roast, dark chocolate, coffee. Rather dry flavor, slightly sweetish, with roast, chocolate, some coffee, and a bitter finish, slightly ashy. Medium-bodied. Good.

Can at home in London - picked up at Royal Mile Whiskies, Bloomsbury. Pours deep brown with a thick, creamy beige head. Sturdy roasted malts in the nose, some ash, baking cocoa, dried and leathery berries. Medium sweet flavour with more assertive roast character, charred wood, some raisins, burnt pine, bittersweet chocolate. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nicely balanced in the finish, with more robust roasted malts, dark chocolate, burnt coffee and lightly oily pine, some scorched earth. A really solid overall stout. Nice depth, and also really drinkable.

Sampled from can thanks to Scopey. Dark brown color with a slight red glare coming through, average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, dark malts, firm roast and coffee with a malt bitter finish. Decent body, medium carbonation. Decent beer.

Can shared with the RB crew. It pours black with a thick tan head. The aroma is rich roast, earthy, big coffee character, cacao, salted liquorice and umami. The taste is bitter, rich roasted malt, charred wood, burnt pine, cacao nibs, ashy, umami, coffee grounds and peppery spice with a dry, rich roasted finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty punchy on the bitterness.

Can from The Beerhive. Black body with a medium beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of Twiglet ash, coffee grounds and burnt toast. Flavour of charred wood, roasted malt and a minty finish. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A solid Stout - full flavoured and easy drinking. Very enjoyable.
