KOMES RUSSIAN IMPERIAL STOUT is a strong, aromatic and complexdark, top fermenting beer matured for 6 months. It is a speciality appreciated by beer lovers all over the world. The distinct roasted note, typical of the style, comes from roasted barley. The notes of coffee, chocolate and prunes are counter-balanced with a distinct bitterness. A small amount of rye malt boosts the beer's richness and velvety texture. The RIS has an intense flavour and aroma attributed to aromatic Ukrainian varieties of hops (Klon and Slovianka). Despite the beverage's considerable strength, the alcohol is not aggressive but rather - pleasantly warming.

Horehound, molasses, coffee nose. Black, thin head. Molasses, tar, raisin. Dark roast coffee finish. Full body, easy carbonation. Robust and tasty.

Shared with guys at BAT 6/2021. Fully malty, lots of chocolate, cocoa. Also assertive alcoholic warmth, a bit too much, even considering the ABV. But only slightly too much. Light dark fruits. Good but not great.

Bottle from The Packie Pours a dark brown/black color with a thin tan head that slowly dissipates. Rich caramel and light chocolate with a hint of roast. Light fruit and earth. Certainly not a thick chunky American style RIS but its quite tasty.
