Dark brown with a light head. Has some brown sugar on the nose. Fairly thin, touch roasty. Little bit of acidity in the finish. Ok, not Baltic, like, at all. Really not sure where Americans got this idea that Baltic Porter only means lager yeast, and that there are no other distinguishing characteristics of the style, but that opinion is wrong, and leads to beers that don't come together very well.

Poured up on tap at THE Barclays where it exhibits a dark mahogany body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up some chocolate, dark roasted malts, a sliver of burnt malts and then a malt sweetened earthy coffee sensation. The taste delivers malt sweetened dark roasted malts and earthy roasted coffee. Toward midway the earthy coffee takes on more of a chocolate sensation that really pulls this together into a pleasing degree of harmony. This is smooth rich and just right.
