One day, brewer Magnus came to work with a bag of candy. A licorice/sour apple candy to be precise. Handing pieces out to whomever wanted it. David wanted it, so he took a piece. Then he took another one. Then, another one. He was completely hooked. A seed had planted itself in his head. And, the idea just grew and grew. It grew so big, it grew into this beer. David had to make it. We had to make it. A black, sour beer that tastes of licorice and apples might be taking it to far. But, sometimes you need to go to far in order to see how far you can go. And honestly, we’ve not gotten far enough yet.

Bottled. Black colour, small off-white head. Aroma is tart berries, soem green apple skins, mild toasted tones with some wood too. Flavour is liquorice, green apple skins, some tart fruity tones with mild herbs as well.

Draught @ Brewers Beer Bar, Tredje Långgatan 8, Göteborg, Sweden 41303. [ As Dugges Black Apple ].Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is apple, leather, apple pie, licorice notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate acidic with a long duration, tart apple, apple pie, licorice notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Bottled 330ml (Beergium)
Opaque colour, small off-white head. Tart aroma has licorice and toasted notes. Light-bodied. Front is heavy on licorice but then covered by mouthpuckering tartness. Also apple is lurking there. Light body. I am not so big fan of this "idea".

Bottle from Beergium, bought in October 2017. Dark brown with a small head. Aroma and taste of apples, licorice, some bread and light citrus. The body was light and the finish a bit tart. Soft and easy to drink.

Keg at A&H, 05/08/17. Extremely dark mahognay brown with a light beige head. Nose is apple chews, mellow fruit esters, orchard wood, straw, grains. Taste comprises tarte apple, damp hay, light citrus bleed, funk, grains. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok for the ABV I guess but rather 1D.

Bronze-amber color. Aroma: dried apple, malt, fruit, caramel. Slightly sourish taste, apple and caramel, licorice, a little wildly, strange.

Keg at Anspach & Hobday. Clear deep brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light, dry and fairly crisp. Floral apple. Sour apple sweets. Touch of lemony sourness but some contrasting saccharin sweetness. Light dry finish. Simple stuff, but quite good fun.

Keg at Anspach. A dark. Nut brown coloured pour with a a beige head. Aroma is sweet cola cubes, black burnt sugars, liquorice, tart, apple, pear. Flavour is composed of sour, tangy apple, Jolly ranger, apple. Tangy funk. Palate is sour, tangy, highish carbonation.. Lingering green Jolly rancher.
