11/4/2026. Cask at the Isle of Man CAMRA 13th Beer & Cider Festival. Good pour. Aroma is dark malts, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, pine, light nutty and liquorice notes. Moderate sweetness, medium and developing roasted bitterness. Good body, average to soft carbonation. Good robust and traditional feel to this one. Enjoyed it.

Gravity cask at the 2024 Leicester CAMRA Beer Festival, Abbey Pumping Station. Dark purplish brown with an uneven ring of khaki head. Liquorice and pine, a little bit of blackberry and lots of dark malt in the aroma. Taste start sweet and piney but turns darkly bitter quite quickly. Big pine on the finish. Light and slightly pile body, no carbonation. Special!

Bottle from Grain Schooner. Brown body with ruby highlights and a beige head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of charcoal and minerals. Flavour of black grape and coffee. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Astringent and ashy.

Bottle. Nose is smoke, earth, hint of coffee, fruity, touch of citrus and chocolate. Taste follows, smoke, tar, hint of soy, fruity, leading to a herbal hop and chocolate finished. Slick light feel Has the lovely balance which I associate with Runaway who must be Manchester's most underrated brewery.
