His name is Matt Vandenberghe and he created a sweet peach tea drink using Eagle Rare Bourbon as the base spirit. Tomme had a chance to taste these magical drinks during Seattle Beer Week a few years ago and has been looking at recreating this cocktail in beer.

The base beer is our famous Angel’s Share that we aged in fresh Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels for 9 months. To this we added some awesome whole peach slivers and a splash of Brettanomyces Clausenni to ferment the peaches. The beer has a great peach nose and a long carmelized bourbon finish. One of the most experimental of all the track series.

12.7 oz bottle from AbeerVinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark plum with no foam. Aroma is wonderful of malt, licorice, plum, vanilla. Body is dense with tickling carbonation. Taste is intense in sweetness and bitterness for a full mouth. Finish is long and persistent.

Bottle. Dark brown, almost black, head does not stay long. Aroma is lots of vanilla, also coconut and bourbon. I cannot find peach. Medium sweetness, not bitter. Full body, thick texture. Very good.

375mL cork and cage. This was not the Box Set version. I did not buy this, someone shared it with me after I bought the equally pricey Ghost in the Forest. I am glad because this came out as a I feared. It wasn't the adjuncts, which I liked. The bourbon was strong a coffee-bean like but without the coffee. I wish there was more peach. I actually thought some black tea was apparent on the finish and eased the flavor. The issue is the big base beer. Its harsh, overdone, sweet, sticky, and aversive malts. I wonder how this would taste in the 8-10 abv range but too big&bad for me as is.

My goodness, caramel and bourbon flood. Strong black tea nose. Dunno where the peaches are but some fruity notes.

Tap at Babajan. Dark brown with almost no head. Full, sweetish with raisins, bourbon, dark rye bread. A bit of oak and earth in there too.

375 ml bottle into snifter, 2017 vintage bottling. Pours hazy very dark brown color with a small dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of huge caramel, brown sugar, toffee, raisin, plum, peach, fig, date, apricot, apple, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, marshmallow, brown bread, and herbal black tea; with lighter notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, fudge, molasses, pepper, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness. Some booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/bready/light roasted malt, bourbon barrels, fruity yeast, and peach/black tea notes; with great strength. Taste of huge caramel, brown sugar, toffee, raisin, plum, peach, fig, date, apricot, apple, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, marshmallow, brown bread, and herbal black tea; with lighter notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, fudge, molasses, pepper, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roast bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness. Lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, dark fruit, peach, apricot, apple, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, marshmallow, brown bread, herbal black tea, light chocolate/fudge/molasses, pepper, and yeast/oak/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready/light roasted malt, bourbon barrels, fruity yeast, and peach/black tea flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy, silky, and rich mouthfeel that is fantastic. Lightly slick, sticky, chalky, tannic, and drying. Alcohol is very well hidden; a mildly increasing warmth of 12.5%, with minimal barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is an incredible English Barleywine/strong ale style. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready/light roasted malt, bourbon barrels, fruity yeast, and peach/black tea flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV. Very rich and complex. Perfectly balanced malts, bourbon barrels, and fruity Brett C flavors; with nice presence of the peaches/tea, without overwhelming the base beer. Amazing barrel integration; without being overly boozy, tannic, or drying. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

375 c&c from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours very dark brown with a transient tan smear. Aroma of bourbon and chocolate. Maybe a fruit note. Full bodied. Flavor starts bourbon/chocolate, then some peach moves in. Lots of treacle in a darkish way. Earthy. Not excessively undry. Not at all bitter. Maybe it's what would come from a liquor filled chocolate with bourbon and peach. Maybe the earthiness is Brettiness, but ? Quite delicious.
