Bottled. Amber colour with a mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is sum, some floral, mild sweet bready tones with some slight alcohol too. Flavour is alcohol, some sweet malts, toffee and mild wood and mild cardboardy tones.

Pale amber colour, medium-sized white head. Bready, some rhum in the nose but not typical rum sweet. Medium-bodied. Sweet malts, raisins, alcohol bitterness, hops, grass, paper, not much rum. Tolerable.

Aus der Flasche (bbe 30.02.2002) im 2019-06 getrunken. Oh je was ist denn da im Glas - das hier ist ein recht hopfiges Amerikansiches Barley Wine wo dann auch noch der Alkohol schlecht eingebunden ist. Neben der starken Alkoholischen Süße steht eine deutliche Note von Citrus. Doch die Hopfenbiterkeit steht zu dominant darüber. Dazu kommt diese ganze Unausgewogenheit, wo ich dieses Bier dann doch lieber in den Ausguß verabschiede. Schade!

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a hazy amber with a small, white head. Very subdued aroma, just sweet caramel - no real rum accents. Rich and sweet body, rather simple but the rum notes are coming through now. Ends very sweet and with a rough boozinesss. 271218

Bottle, 9.0%. Lagery aroma with a caramelly note. Almost clear copper colour. Small white head. The flavour starts off sweet with some vanilla. Has a nicely warming alcohol note. Late fruit and vanilla aftertaste.
