Clear golden and very light copper coloured body with the slightest orange glow and a fast-dying super thin head - this looks more like a cider than a beer. Aroma of apples, light malt, sour brett and a little bit of citrus. Light-bodied; Sharp bitter apple flavour at first with a touch of malt, light spices, alcohol and a lot of metallic notes with no depth, no complexity and no smooth flavours. Aftertaste is simple and undefined with a little more of the same tastes - bitterness, a touch of apples and no complexity. Overall, not such a great beer - missing from all sides and not worth trying - especially from across the country. I sampled this 65 cL gold-wax topped bottle purchased from Made in Oregon (Pioneer Place) in Portland, Oregon on 13-April-2013 for US$9.95 sampled at home in Washington on 18-November-2013.

Bomber from Made in Oregon. 5.8% ABV. 8 IBU. Pours lightly hazy pale gold with a slight white head. Aroma is rather earthy/Belgian. Light fruit esters. Med body. Flavor is arguably a bit of apple, a good bit earthy, and Belgian yeast/spice/esters. It’s dry. It finishes that way. It’s far from bitter, but the apple sort of goes earthy sour a little bit, so it has an effect of more hop bitter. Or something silly like that. There’s a lot of flavor, and the apple backdrop keeps coming forward. This might be a beer for those who like tart/sour. It isn’t exactly that, but it seems that way. Very different and challenging in its way.
