Aromas are lots of grapefruit with some MJ and malt. Flavors are similar to nose, more dry and bitter than sweet but excellent balance. Carbonation is a bit soft with full body. Really good drinking beer! Wish I had more.

Draft pour at Wandering Tortoise, Phoenix. Clean and clear golden appearance. Rocky foam head. Earthy grain nose. Crisp front, flavorful pale. Bitter grapefruit rind, cool melon, grassy linger. Very good pale all around.

Poured from an undated 16 oz can. Aroma is fairly malty with cracker malt notes as well as some biscuit and hints of toasted bread. Medium light grapefruit and pine resin notes with hints of passion fruit. Hints of alcohol as well. Pours a clear, brilliant, golden-copper color with a medium large, thick, pillowy, white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers. Moderately high lacing and small legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with moderate malt notes of crackers, biscuit and toasted bread with a hint of caramel. Fairly strong bitterness and light alcohol notes. Medium light grapefruit and passion fruit notes with hints of dank, pine resin. Somewhat dry finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid old school style pale ale reminiscent of Sierra Nevada, but just a bit less malty and bitter with a bit fruitier of a hop profile. I'm not sure I've had a pale ale like this from a popular brewery in quite some time. Usually they are either hazy or super light bodied. I would disagree with the can's assertion that this is crisp, but it does finish fairly dry for the malt profile.
