Keg @ Port Street Beer House, Manchester. Black with a thin off-white head. Its strength is hidden and its chocolate light amongst gritty roasted malts. It’s similar in its nose.

Can from The Wine Cellar Sanderstead. It pours black with a medium tan head. The aroma is rich, sweet, malt - driven, powdered chocolate, chocolate cake and chocolate sauce. The taste is earthy roast, peppery spice, plenty of chocolate, cocoa, mocha, lightly ashy, wood and charred pine with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Thankfully not too sweet, more bitter. Nice stuff.

Keg. Appearance is black, with a large light brown foamy head, which gradually diminishes. Aroma- lots of coffee, dark chocolate, toffee, vanilla hints. Taste- more coffee and chocolate, undertones of vanilla sweetness, nutty treacle, roast malty finish. Tasty.

Can from Bison Beer, Brighton. Black pour with a light tan head. Lots of cocoa and chocolate in the nose plus coffee, smoke and dark fruit. Coffee, cocoa and chocolate dominate the flavour. Smoky-sweet mouthfeel. Nice brew.
