Half-pint, cask ale, at Nag's Head. Shared with Finn. Black in the glass, naked surface, spotty lacing. Moderate coconuts and chocolate on the nose. Vanilla sweet chocolate flavours joined by nuts, lightly spiced. Creamy malts to the ending, mid sweet. Satisfying. (Reading 20.10.2019).

Cask. Harlequin, Sheffield. Fuck, I’ve not been in here for years. Doesn’t look like I’ve missed much. Anyhow, the beer is clear, dark brown. Foamy, lasting, beige head. Nose has chocolate ice cream. Hint of fruity coffee bean. Some vanilla. Dusty cocoa. Taste is surprisingly dry and vinous. Light, vinous bitterness. Medium body. Low carbonation. Nicely creamy. Twang of vine fruit to finish. Delivers the Neapolitan thing on the nose, then turns proper stouty. Nice one.

Light to medium sweet flavour with some chalky berry candies, bittersweet baking cocoa, a little ash, earth. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Decent balance in the finish, some chocolate gateaux, more strawberry, baking cocoa. Overall, a fun beer well executed.

Keg at CBC Clerko for the tap takeover. A clear black mahogany brown coloured pour with a lasting thin beige head. Aroma is sweet peanut butter, choc, vanilla. Little marshmallow. Flavour is composed of medium roast, jammy fruit, powdered choc, vanilla. Ticks all the Neapolitan boxes. Palate is semi crisp highish carbonation,. Nice concept beer. Good.
