A robust, yet surprisingly refreshing porter, Mud Puppy is a favorite of dark beer lovers. Characterized by a thick, rocky head and luscious chocolate-like nose, the malty profile is balanced by liberal hopping for its style

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Skyview. Pour a hazy, dark, orangey brown with a creamy, light brown head. Lightly sweet, chocolatey aroma. Medium body with lightly burned and bitter malt accents and a light, underlying tartness. Bitterness in the finish from both malts and hops. There might be a slight infection in there. 171107

Bottled. A hazy red-brown beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of chocolate, as well as lighter notes of coffee and alcohol. The flavor is slightly acidic from hard roasted malt, but may also from a slight infection, which gives it a light touch of vegetables. If just the flavor was as good as the aroma.

Bottle from Sliffy drunk on 8/25/07
Clear mahogany-caramel body is topped by a beige head, two-fingers high, that steadily falls to cover, leaving little/no lacing.
Butterscotch, butter caramel, butter and buttertoffee in the nose, and lots of it. Some roast peeks through, but it’s few and far between.....
Diacetyl fully rampant in the flavor as well, just a complete bomb, with light chocolate and caramel notes to start, but quickly overwhelmed by pure buttery goodness. Or not so much goodness...Filtered texture, loose carbonation. Looks like I didnt miss much from this off bottle. This brewery seems so hit-or-miss.

Bottle Pours a very dark brown with very little head and slight even lacing. Aroma is not very strong but has nice tootsie roll, smokey notes. Flavor is quite smokey, charcoal and not so much of the sweet notes form the aroma. Feel is moderate and yes a litle chalky. Finish is dry and with a campfire bitter flavor. Thanks again to MrFacto
