[ As Ashover Victorian Ruby Mild ].
ABV: 7.0%. Clear dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly to fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, dark malt, dark fruit, roasted, light raisin. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, dark malt, dark fruit, light raisin. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20180126]

Bottle from Real Ale Newark. Deep cola black with a thin light tan head. Aroma has chocolate, nuts and raisin. Taste fruity light sweet to light bitter. Easy go drink for 7%.

On gravity at 2016 Rail Ale Festival, Barrow Hill, Chesterfield - Ruby body, foamy white head. Cake fruits, caramel and chocolatey notes.

Stockport Beer Festival 2016. Dark brown ale. It has a strength, but surprisingly maintains its ’mild’ character, with mainly dark malts, but the odd roasted ones evident too.

Cask. Gravity dispense. Barrow Hill jamboree. Clear, cola brown. Nose has chocolate. Nuts. Vine fruit. Some Pontefract cake. Taste is fruity, tangy, light bitter. Some vinous dryness. Easy drinking. Fruity, light bitter finish.

Cask at the Rail Ale Festival Chesterfield, 2016. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is sweet roasty sugary malt. The flavour is moderate sweet with a fruity hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Gravity cask at Rail Ale ’16, 20/05/16. Dark mahogany brown with a decent tan cap. Nose is earthy fruit rinds, light spice, toffee, faint tobacco. Taste comprises fruit loaf, liquorice, toffee, bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok strong mild.
