Bomber. Fresh. Pours a clear dark orange color with a large white head. A nice big fruit and biscuit nose. A huge flavor of oranges, some mellow biscuit, caramel, sweet malty presence. Really quite rich and clean. Lots of sediment in the last pours. Really nice IIPA.

22 oz. bottle, pours a dark orangey amber with a fairly large foamy beige head. Aroma is quite malt-heavy for a IIPA, with caramel malts and candied sugar upfront, some dank earthy notes and bread. Flavour is lot hoppier than the nose suggests, with earthy hops, bready malts, some slight caramel malts to balance. The astringency is quite high, with quite a dry body and only less of the caramel sweetness that seems more pronounced on the nose. Decent IIPA.

1st I’ve tried something new from Eel River in a long time. The 22oz bomber pours clear copper with off white head of foam leaving behind plenty of lacing. The aroma delivers resiny pine and spicy hoppiness, some grassy notes and a bit of malt sweetness in the background. The taste has bold pulses of pine, spicy and bitter grapefruit hops just in front of an earthy sort of odd organic maltiness. Into the finish the bitterness and resiny notes grow and hardly tempered by the hints of malty sweetness. Nice bitter IIPA.

Crystal clear nice deep copper and a light amber coloured body with a super dense, three centimetre tall tan head - very nice looking with hints of a ruby tint. Aroma of pungent dank hop notes, a lot of citrus, some pine and a decent amount of malt. Medium to Full-bodied; Chewy malt flavour at first gives way to the herbal, resiny and citrus hops in the flavour with a lot of alcohol warmth, some sweetness and the good malt balance that isn’t overpowering, but definitely shows its ~8%abv. Aftertaste is very well rounded for the style, relying on the hops quite a bit, but not without anything else - the malt is nice and the sugars go well. Overall, a fairly well executed Imperial IPA with a good note of resiny hops at the finish more than anything else - decent for the size, but borders on the edge of being a BIG drink. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Super Jr Market (BestDamnBeer Shop) in San Diego, California on 06-May-2012 for US$6.99 sampled at home in Washington on 24-May-2012.

This is a good, not great, double IPA. Pours clean and amber, with minimal head. Aroma is pleasant, with florals and some piney notes. Taste has some hops kick, but not as strong as most doubles out there. The beer is fairly well balanced, with strong hops sweetness throughout, but it just doesnt do it for me.

On tap at Blue Palms. Pours with a clear golden hue with a large off-white head. Aromas are hoppy, fruity, soapy, dirty dishes and a touch of creamed corn (DMS). Flavors are of overripe to rotten oranges, tangerine and marmalade. A bit soapy. Syrupy and a bit sweet on the mouth.

Tap at the KGO beer fest in Jack London Square in Oakland, CA. Pours dark amber with a creamy beige head. Floral aroma. Med body. Creamy. It’s got a butter/diacetyl presence. I verified that with another person. Maybe it was rushed for the occasion. It has malt and a fair dose of hops, but.....
