Our partner Mike grew up in the small town of Listowel, Ontario. He spent his childhood catching frogs in the trickle of a river lovingly dubbed “The Muddy Maitland”. Almost got his finger bit off by a snapping turtle once. Ahhhh, good times. Today, his beer of choice is reminiscent of the Muddy Maitland in that he likes it real hazy and dank - if you can see the bottom of the glass, it’s not hazy enough. Muddy Maitland is a tropical fruit-centric IPA with an earthy aroma and a smooth, full body flavour. Diggidy-dank! Get it in ya.

What You’ll Love About It

Our brewer, Andy, has turned out some of Ontario's best IPAs over the years. We couldn't be happier to have him here, so we set him loose making a flagship hazy IPA he could be proud of at a cost that would make our partner, Steve, very uncomfortable. Dank, bright, soft, and bursting at the seams with citrus, strawberry, and passion fruit.

How It's Made

Brewed with oats and wheat, and hopped with our current favourite combo: Mosaic, Strata, and Bergamot.

In mouth, sweet fruity malt with light resinous hops, light doughy character, tropical fruit, pleasant. On tap at Kingston location.

Can from the LCBO. Murky medium orange with a one finger foamy off white head that leaves string lace. Nose is light tropical fruit and melon with some vegetables. Light fruity sweetness with a medium- grapefruit bitterness. Chewy medium- mouth with average carbonation. 7/4/7+/3+/14

Hazy golden colour with a nice creamy whitish head, good retention and some foamy-creamy lacing. Pink grapefruit aromas at first, but some pineapple notes do come out. Eventually, citrus zest and the oat flattens the base. The taste shows more of these last two. A touch of citrus sourness. Light tart on the tongue. A refreshing, citrusy, hazy, dryish IPA, but seems to fall a little short in the end.
