Can from the lcbo. Dark brown pour, with a small off white head. Aroma is roasty, but very slight. Very light pine, overly bitter for the style, roast falls off quickly, easy drinking, but not very enjoyable.

This IPA poured a deep, very dark amber colour with a creamy, light tan head. Medium lacing. Scents include burnt toast, caramel, molasses and a little coffee. First swig was nice and roasty with flavours of coffee, caramel and burnt toast. Finish is almost smokey with a little sweetness and lots of burnt! Delicious.

Can from the LCBO. Clear dark reddish brown with a large lingering cream coloured head that leaves some sparse lace. Nose is light roast nuts, a bit of coffee and cocoa, some grass, vanilla and mineral notes. Light+sweetness with a light+ grassy bitterness. Mouth is thin with average carbonation and a light bitter finish. Underwhelming. 6/3/5/2+/11

Pours a copper colour with an amber highlight. The head is frothy, light beige, with average retention and some good foamy lacing. The aromas are quite unexpected at first with some sweaty sock sourness and some crazy sweetness with hints of nuts. Eventually, this calms down to show roasted malts and coffee notes. The taste is a little too sweet for a black IPA. Not much sign of hops in here ?? Chocolate malts. Ok, some light hoppiness does start showing up, but nothing for this style. Way too sweet, like coffee with way too much sugar. Like, when we were young and starting to drink coffee. Not cool anymore.
