This stout poured a deep black colour with a light, creamy, tan coloured head. Not bad lacing. Scents include very light coffee, caramel and soy sauce. First swig was a little thin. Flavours of burnt malt and coffee most prominent. An easy drinking stout, not overbearing. Finish is nice and burnt with coffee flavour lingering.

Can from the Beer Store smuggled back in my luggage. Solid dark brown black with a thin tan head that dissipates quickly. Roasty earthy with faint fruit and a light caramel. Medium body moderate carbonation. Pretty simple but enjoyable dry stout.

Can from the LCBO Deep mahogany under a small lingering khaki head with some patchy lace. Nose is coffee, dark chocolate, light roast, molasses, a hint of vanilla and dark fruit. Flavour is more subdued than the nose with light+ sweet molasses and a similar coffee and dark chocolate bitterness. Mouth is medium- with soft carbonation and a short lightly sweet finish. 7+/4/7-/3-/13+

Pours a real dark brown colour, almost black, with very little copper highlights. The head is big, beige, kind of creamy, long lasting with some nice creamy lacing. Beautiful aromas of coffee over roasted malts with hints of hops and chocolate soften by the oats. The taste is where you feel the lower alcohol content, with milder roasted barley and light oats. Still, a nice easy-drinking session stout.
