This Gold Medal winning Red Ale pours a deep mahogany colour, with a generous, tan-coloured head. The nose brings a sweet roasted malt character, with underlying citrus and pine notes. Medium bodied, the initial caramel sweetness on the tongue gives way to moderate bitterness.

Fruity malts, piney hops, bready, chewy, slightly nutty. Nice mouth feel, good carb. Low bitterness, soft fruity malts, nice pine resin hops.

This red ale poured a deep red colour with a creamy, tan coloured head. Nice lacing. Scents include dusty books and a little dough. Disappointing bouquet. First swig was quite nice with flavours of medium hops and light caramel. Finish is a little bitter with a maltyness that lingers.

Can from the LCBO. Clear very dark copper with a large lingering off white head. Nose is caramel, light roasted nuts, some red fruit, light pine and grass with some herbal notes. Light+ sweet caramel malts with a well balanced grassy bitterness. Mouth is medium and slick with good carbonation and a lingering lightly bitter finish. Quite nice. 7/4/7/3+/14+

Deep amber colour with light mocha-coloured head and lots of lacing. Aromas of caramel malts, some roasted ones and hints of coffee. The taste has a balance of caramel and roasted malts, but watered-down and with some nice hops in the finish adding some dryness. A nice balanced roasted-caramel malty red ale.
