Rich malt sweetness dominates the nose, complimented by dark fruits reminiscent of currant. Flavor similar to aroma. A clean lager flavor, starting sweet before descending into darker malt flavors. Low hop bitterness, and a pleasing warmth imparted by the higher alcohol.

Jet black, big beige head. Lots of roast, but subtle fruity also, and alot of pine resin as it warms. Very full bodied and oily, with soft carb. Medium bitterness, pine resin finish with hints if coffee and more roast. Not bad, leaning more towards imperial stout with the hop profile I’m tasting. Still quite good though.

This porter poured a deep dark amber colour with a dark tan coloured, foamy/creamy head. Almost no lacing. Scents include boozy, coffee, molasses, caramel and ripe fruit. First swig was a punch in the palate with thick sweetness, molasses, coffee and a hint of cherry. Finish is sweet and malty with a winey, coffee flavour lingering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours an almost black, dark brown colour with a mocha creamy head and lacing. Aromas of roasted malts with molasses, coffee, nuts and hints of dark fruits. The taste is smooth with the roasted barley and mild burnt aftertaste. Very smooth all around with the alcohol very well-hidden. Light chocolate malt and coffee as well. Quite drinkable !

Bottle from theLCBO. Very dark mahogany under a one finger lingering khaki coloured head. Nose has coffee, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, light vanilla, a touch of wood and a bit of dark fruit, Light+ sweet molasses with a light dark chocolate and coffee bitterness and a good dose of roast in the middle. Medium- creamy mouth with quite soft carbonation and a fruity finish. Quite good 8/4/8-/4/15.
