Tap at Tipsy Cow. Big molasses tones, sugary. Rich bourbon. Massive, huge barrel tones. Pitch black body. Beige, glass rimming head. Right on.

Sampled at GABF 2013. Pours a muddy black with some beige head. Boozy, bourbon nose, brown sugar, malt, molasses... where’s the tripel? Flavor is all rum, chocolate, whiskey, booze, caramel. Full, boozy finish. Very heavy.

Draft at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Deep opaque black-brown body, thick beige head. Nose of chocolate, cocoa powder, roasted malts, and modest oak. Dark malty body with chocolate liqueur, coffee beans, and black and red licorice. Lots of crystallized burnt toasty sugars and warming alcohol. The oak is rather subdued but the beer is hot. A nice, warming imperial stout for a hot, humid night.
