Bottle: Poured a cloudy deep brown color ale with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of nice woody notes of bourbon and vanilla with light roasted malt with some very good black chocolate notes. Taste is also a great mxi between some vanilla and bourbon notes with light bitter roasted malt notes which are mostly offset by some rich black chocolate notes. Body is full with nice creamy texture and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Great balance with nice barrel-aging treatment.

Sample at GTMW ticket wait. Brown-black bourbon, caramel aroma. Smooth and chocolate edged, kind of booze forward, but grows on you. Not much semblance of a Schwarz. Big brown chocolate I guess. A lot of depth.

Dark brown, tinged ruby at the edges, nearly black in the middle. Smallish tan head faded fast. Light carbonation. Rich nose is roasty but cut by the strong burnt caramel and whiskey aromatics. Flavor is similar, a potent alcohol presence gives it a burning kick, mild roast, lots of chocolate, vanilla, burnt caramel, oaky bourbon. Rounded palate but the alcohol and astringency detract from what is almost an easy sipper. More than a little rough around the edges.

22oz bottle pours a translucent, near black with one ring of white head. Nice nose, vanilla, milk chocolate, nutty, sweet, inviting. Flavor is sweet, brown sugar, vanilla, cake icing, chocolate. Full bodied, sweet finish. One note, but nice anyway.

Courtesy of Dak. It pours a nice looking mahogany with tan head. The aroma offers up pears, molasses, some roasted malts and booze. The taste is smooth and gets increasingly creamy with yummy notes of apricot, molasses, pine hops and then hints of sweet vanilla and smooth sweet bourbon. Great complexity and balance here. Wow! Well done.

Bottle shared by noodleuser. Thanks! Pours a clear dark brown color with a thin head. Aroma of molasses, bourbon, spicy hops and vanilla. The taste is molasses, smoke, spicy hops, wood and whisky. Full bodied. Nice.
