Brown pour, huge beige head. Light roast, big sugary wheat aromas. Light hops, hints of cloves and banana. Watery mouth feel, low carb. Finish is lightly bitter, clovey esters, light wheat.

Can: Poured a lightly hazy light brown color Dunkel with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light banana ester with some sweet caramelized malt notes. Taste is a nice mix of caramelized wheat malt with some light residual sugar notes with some subtle notes of banana bread. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well brewed but maybe lacking some of the complex and subtle flavours notes from the staples of the style.

Can from the LCBO. Hazy dark mahogany pour with a one finger off white head that recedes quickly and leaves very sparse lace. Nose is banana and cloves with molasses and dark fruit. Light sweet with a moderate spiciness that is less clove like than the nose. Mouth is medium- and slick with slightly prickly carbonation and a bit of tartness in the lingering finish.

Part of their Survival Pack for fall-winter 2014. Pours an unfiltered copper colour with some amber highlights. The beige head is fizzy, so disappears quickly leaving no lacing. Aromas are fruity with notes of dates and bananas. Nice spices too in the background. The taste starts on the cloves, but finishes pretty quickly with not much lingering. Hints of apples, dark malts and bananas again. An interesting mix between a dunkel and a weiss, but lacking character overall. Not something I would have again, but glad I tried.

Pours dark amber with good lacing and ok head. Light on palate, with some light malt and nutmeg or some sort of spice-like taste. Watery consistency. Light yeast flavour. Tap at Wellington Gastropub.
