Cask @ Victorian Craft Beer Cafe, Halifax. Clear brown colour with a small creamy head. Sweet stout, although its sweetness seems to negate any classic stout character. As such, and despite its strength, it feels quite a mild example of this style.

Almost clear deep amber brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth but very mellow dark malts. A little creamy sweetness into modest chocolate biscuit and sweet slightly bubblegum esters. Smooth and mildly dry finish. Well it's tasty and drinkable, I can even forgive the esters, what it comes down to is drinkability and I don't think I would want a pint.

Bottle kindly shared by Grumbo. Big thanks :-) Hazy brown with a lasting beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and chocolate. Flavor is medium sweet and slightly acidic. Dry and slightly acidic finish. Something isn’t right with the taste. 180217
