On tap at Craft Beer Co - Clerkenwell, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma is rich, with tons of roasted malt, cocoa nibs, and some dark sugars. Flavour is very rich, with rich roasted malt, cocoa nibs, wood, and burnt dark sugars. Balanced well, with a roasty, chocolatey dry finish. Very good.

Keg at Cask Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico, London. A black coloured pour with a healthy beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, caramel aroma and taste. A decent imperial stout from Hoxton.

Key keg at Pigs Ear '23, day two, 29/11/23. Black with a good sized lasting khaki head. Nose is chocolate, brown sugar, light roast, toffee fudge. Taste comprises chocolate, toffee fudge, toasted brown sugars, molasses, charr, vanilla. Full bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a good boost offered. Tidy stuff.

Key keg at Pigs Ear 2023, day 2 - London. Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Medium to big sweet flavour with rounded dark malts, burnt toffee, vanilla, booze, scorched earth. Medium to full bodied, oily, with fine carbonation. Sweet and lightly warming finish, rich but pretty well balanced. Good, toothy impy.

Pigs Ear. KeyKeg. Opaque dark brown black beer, small tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Smooth dark malts, perhaps a tad thin. Smooth creamy dark chocolate, a tad thin but rich tasting. Touches of coffee and roast. Airy semi dry finish. Nice. It's hard to discern a palin old Impy these days, so many are barrel aged, and that really is not a complaint, the opposite in fact. But now and again, nice to taste a good plain Impy and this fits that bill.
