Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours almost black with minimal cream head. There’s lactose and roast malts in the aroma, with a trace of smokiness too. In the mouth it has a creamy texture with flavours of dark fruits, liquorice, and roasted malts plus hints of toffee and cocoa. The fruits win out in he finish. This is rather nice.
