We decided to kick off a little series of stouts to feature local coffee roasters, and selfishly, to observe the results of different beans in beer. We kept the ABV relatively low, the body chewy and voluptuous, and let the coffee do most of the talking.
Our newest version is made with Stereo La Reforma (its tasting notes are: blackberry, cherry, milk chocolate), and it hits all the marks for good body, sweetness, and all-around coffee flavour.

On Tap at Spacecraft in Sudbury, ON.Black pour, with a small mocha head. Aroma is a blast of cold coffee, very roasty, light soy, and chocolate cake. Mouth feel is full, and slightly oily, carb is soft and satisfying. low bitterness, smooth cold coffee finish, with light cocoa powder.

A deep dark stout with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with loads of coffee, vanilla, caramel, very nice and complex. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with light coffee notes, coffee crisp, caramel, very nice. On tap at Lupulus.
