Black colour, no head. Aroma of sweet coffee, then vanilla, then chocolate. Full bodied, sweet but with balance; strong coffee component, actually also too much green peppers, hiding the vanilla, the rich malt, the dark sugars; malt acidity is high. The coffee is out of balance.

16oz (thx, Charles S.!) @ Alex's garage during the movie night. Appearance: pours like oil, nice very dark brown with no head. Aroma: mix of coffee and American oak accompanied with some vanilla and sweetness. Taste: along the same lines, quite thick, low to moderately sweet, lots of coffee and American oak, vanilla is very subtle. Overall: good.

Brown bottle, gift from a stranger, bottle share at Brasserie du Bas-Canada - Hautes-Plaines, savoured on 17 February 2024; eye: black, opaque, no effervescence, no head, no lacing; nose : coffee, roast, bourbon, vanilla; mouth: coffee, roast, bourbon, vanilla, alcoholic warmth, finale in bourbon with good presence of coffee, full-bodied, average carbonation, mildly sweet, syrupy and alcoholic texture; in summary: very good FRANÇAIS

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with some retention and some lacing notes. Aroma of cocoa/chocolate notes with some deep bourbon barrel notes, some vanilla and floral coffee notes and light residual sugar notes. Taste is also a mix of rich chocolate notes with some vanilla and floral coffee notes which are well-balanced against deep woody bourbon notes with some residual sugar notes. Body is pretty full with an oily texture and good carbonation with some discernible alcohol notes. Solid BA stout with a nice level of complexity and a smooth finish.
