750mL bottle. Pours black. Aroma has a lot of bourbon barrels and burnt caramel; maybe some cinnamon and cloves. Flavour is really rich with bourbon, burnt caramel, toasted malts. Mouthfeel is nice and smooth. Feels perhaps a bit harsh and unbalanced, but otherwise a good beer.

750ml (thx, Charles S.!) shared with Phill and the gang @ Matt's new place. Appearance: almost black with a weak dark brown head. Aroma: lots of oak, heavy, a bit sweet. Taste: along the same lines, low to moderately sweet. Overall: nice barrel presence.

750mL bottle, pours black with a tiny brown head. Aroma reveals a nice bourbon barrel character and some gentle burnt sugars. Flavour is bold and rich, with plenty of bourbon barrel character, dark sugars, and a bit of burnt sugars. There's some iron-like character here that's almost blood-like, but the barrel and sugars are quite nice.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with some retention and some light lacing notes. Aroma of rich black chocolate notes with some strong woody bourbon notes. Taste is also a mix of rich black chocolate notes with some woody bourbon notes and traces of vanilla. Body is full with a syrupy texture and medium carbonation with some alcohol notes that are discernible. Solid BA stout with some nice bourbon notes coming from quality barrels.

Olive bottle, 750 ml, with and at Jean-Frédéric Pleau (merci!), savoured on 29 May 2023; eye: black, opaque, no effervescence, ring of brown head, no lacing; nose: bourbon, malt, molasses, light woodiness, alcohol, aniseed; mouth: bourbon, malt, molasses, light woodiness, alcohol, aniseed, alcohol warmth, finale in bourbon with presence of alcohol, full-bodied, average carbonation, mildly sweet, alcoholic texture; to sum up: quite likable FRANÇAIS Bouteille olive, 750 ml, avec et chez Jean-Frédéric Pleau (merci!), savourée le 29 mai 2023; œil : noire, opaque, pas d'effervescence, anneau de mousse brune, pas de dentelle; nez : bourbon, malt, mélasse, léger boisé, alcool, anis; bouche : bourbon, malt, mélasse, léger boisé, alcool, anis, chaleur d'alcool, finale en bourbon avec présence d'alcool, corsée, carbonatation moyenne, moyennement sucrée, texture alcoolique; en résumé : bien aimé
