Bottled sample at the winery, 1/3/19. Dark red. Aroma of currants and pepper. Taste is tart and sweet currants, mild honey.

Bottle thanks to tytoanderso. Pours with a red, grape juice colored body. Decent alcohol legs. Aroma of currants, red wine, burnt sagebrush and wild flower/weed sap. Taste is dry, sickly tannic (extremely, overwhelmingly so) extremely low residual sugars, light grape and berries, sow low residual sugar it hurts (seems like less than 0.995). Medium viscosity, and very, very dry. Not really a well executed mead.

ABR 2006. Unusual. Light red color. I wasn’t aware of the black currants before drinking. Aroma has some honey and fruit. Flavor is sweet and sour, and the sour is by far the most sour mead I have ever tasted. Dry, but not as dry as their dry mead. I really like this.
